Hello, I'm carlos

Hello, I'm carlos

oh hey… you found me.

I’ve always been a little obsessed with the intersection of creativity, culture, and consumer behavior—how music, fashion, and storytelling shape the way we connect with brands, ideas, and each other. Why certain things stick. Why others flop. And what actually makes people care.

With a background in lifecycle, product marketing, and creative strategy, I’ve spent the last few years turning that curiosity into work—building campaigns, narratives, and brand experiences designed to resonate with real audiences. Sometimes that looks like strategy decks and campaign flows. Other times it’s figuring out how culture, timing, and storytelling can turn a good idea into something people actually remember.

Outside of my professional work, I created CUERATED, my music and fashion podcast where I dive into the artists, aesthetics, and cultural moments shaping today’s creative industries. It’s a space for conversations about creativity, taste, and the messy, fascinating process of making things.

This page is essentially the “how we got here” section—the projects, roles, and experiences that have shaped how I think about marketing, storytelling, and culture.

The robot is surrounded by small, animated figures and buildings, with a speech bubble saying, 'On the other hand, I've never been more productive.' Senior Manager, Consumer Strategy & Growth (Jul 2025-Present)

i’m a Subscriber Retention & Engagement Strategist, which is a fancy way of saying I make sure people don’t hit “cancel.”

I live at the crossroads of product, content, data, and marketing, designing lifecycle experiences that feel personal, intuitive, and worth sticking around for. I use data to spot the moments that matter, CRM tools to bring them to life, and a user-first mindset to keep everything from feeling salesy. The goal? Happy subscribers, strong products, and engagement that actually means something.

Global CRM & Retention Manager (Feb 2023 - Jul 2025

Officially, I ran the show for CRM & Retention at Dockers. Unofficially, I was the mastermind behind keeping customers obsessed (in a totally healthy, non-creepy way). I led a CRM program that fueled nearly half of our eCommerce revenue each month—yeah, no pressure. One of my biggest wins? Building and launching Dockers Crew, our loyalty program that went on to drive up to 40% of online sales. I worked across teams to make sure every customer touchpoint felt like a handshake, not a sales pitch. Personalized, engaging, and just the right amount of slick—that was the game.

Email Marketing Lead (Jan 2021 - Feb 2023)

Before CRM world domination, I was Dockers’ Email Marketing Lead, basically the architect behind every inbox-worthy moment. From welcome sequences to transactional flows and AI-driven personalization, I made sure our emails did more than just exist—they performed. One of my proudest moments? Playing a major role in launching Dockers Crew Membership, leveling up our email strategy from “meh” to “must-open.” Working with vendors and cross-functional teams, I ensured our email marketing wasn’t just good—it was ridiculously effective.

Social Media & CRM Marketing Coordinator (Sep 2018 - Jan 2021)

At Timbuk2, I was all about making noise—the good kind. As the Social Media & CRM Marketing Coordinator, I crafted scroll-stopping content and online promos that gave the brand some serious personality. Email marketing? Handled. I built targeted campaigns that actually spoke to our audience (instead of just screaming into the void). But the real flex? Running our Nano-Influencer & Ambassador program, turning everyday superfans into brand megaphones. Nothing beats seeing real people hype up a brand they genuinely love.

Marketing Associate (Sep 2017 - Sep 2018)

Amazon’s Treasure Truck was part marketing experiment, part retail magic—and I was right in the middle of it. As a Marketing Associate, I helped shape the vibe, curating product themes, designing eye-catching visuals, and making sure every digital asset popped. But the real highlight? Curating quarterly playlists for Treasure Trucks across the U.S., mixing my love for music with marketing to create an experience that hit all the right notes (literally).
